Charming and evocative of a long-gone way of life, this is a carefully renovated relic of a hotel that's set on an all-pedestrian street with the densest collection of shops in central Porto. Radically renovated in 2002, it has an appealing combination of the 1950s with Belle Époque accessories. It was originally built in 1891 in a five-store "Grand Hotel" format that's still visible in its late Victorian facade and elaborate exterior detailing. Today it's a three-star hotel with a better-than-average service. Due to a highly qualified personal, the Grande Hotel do Porto offers you the best service.

Grande Hotel Do Porto is located in the historical and commercial district of Porto, between Prace da Batalha and Mercado do Bolhao, guests have direct contact with Porto's culture. "Loved the Grande Hotel Do Porto"
We arrived in Porto early in the morning and was very easy to find the bus that connects the airport with porto central. The bus actually stops of at all the major hotels, just ask the driver when you board. We arrived at the Hotel before the check in but the hotel allowed us to store baggage and offered any advice i required to help me out on where and how to get to the major sites. We came back for the check in time and was delighted with the room, we had been given, There was three of us and the room was huge!! With 3 very good sized separate beds. Our baggage had been carried for us to the room aswell. The view was not the best, but the room and the bathroom, made up for this. The whole hotel is a very victorian styled hotel and the staff were wonderful, who could not do enough for us!! W managed to get this hotel for £20 a night per person. The hotel is a fantastic loacation to discover porto! Porto is really a city to be discovered by foot. The metro station (Balhao) was only 200m away on the main strip the hotel is situated on. Would defo stay here again anf the city is very nice!!!
